"In response to COVID-19, a consortium of 200 American manufacturers, The Carolina Textile District and E J Victor Furniture along with nonprofits, The Industrial Commons  and Manufacturing Solutions Center have come together to help produce medical supplies in response to a request from local healthcare providers.
They are actively retooling their production lines from apparel and furniture to produce prototypes of both masks and gowns.
“We’ve organized [Carolina Textile District] for the past 10 years and are ready for this,” said CTD founder, Molly Hemstreet. “We are working to scale quickly over the next week to be able to meet the incredible need and demand.”
